모의유엔과 리더쉽
At January 3rd to 6th, I went to KMUN for the purpose of learning the procedure of the real MUN and enhancing my leadership. I was in a committee of WTO, World Trade Organization. There were two agenda, ‘Responding to the increasing regionalism trade tendencies and the question of establishing a new framework of regional trade partnership in East Asia’ and ‘Reviewing the Doha Development Round and its implication for future multilateral trade negotiations’. I participated in lots of moderated and unmoderated caucus. From KMUN 2018, I became an expert about regionalism and DDR, Doha Development Round. To explain little bit, Doha Development Round (DDR) is the first multilateral trade negotiation initiated after the establishment of WTO in 1995. Compared to the past eight rounds of multilateral trade negotiations (MTN), the environment of the negotiation has changed dramatically for the Doha Development Round, with expanded WTO membership and more sophisticated trade interests. Doha Development Round has reached major significant results, such as reduction in the number of non-tariff barriers and successful ministerial discussion on food security. Talking in front of many delegates became more comfortable than before and I could learn how to assert my opinion effectively. It was very precious opportunity to participate in 2018 KMUN and I would like to take part in 2019 KMUN too.
2018년 1월 3일부터 6일까지 나는 정확한 모의유엔절차를 배우기 위해 그리고 리더쉽을 기르기 위해 케이문을 참가하였다. 나는 세계무역기구위원회에 속해 있었다. 두 가지 어젠다는 '증가하는지역무역협정에대한대응과동아시아에서의새로운지역무역동반자협정설립에대한논의'와 '도하개발어젠다에대한평가와이후다자간무역협상에대해가지는의의'이었다.
나는 많은 공식회의와 비공식회의에 참가하였다. 2018년 케이문을 통하여 나는 지역무역협정과 도하개발 어젠
다라는 주제에 전문가가 되었다. 이 주제에 대해 간략히 설명을 덧붙이자면, 도하개발라운드(DDR)은 1995년 세계무역기구의 설립 이후 가장 첫번째로 개시되었던 다자간무역협상이다. 과거의 8개의 다자간무역협상(MTN)과 비교했을 때, 도하개발라운드의 협상 환경은 세계무역기구 회원국의 확장과 무역이해의 증가된 복잡성으로 인해 극적으로 바뀌었다. 도하개발라운드는 비관세장벽의 수의 감소나 식량안보에 대한 성공적인 각료회의 등과 같은 중대한 결과를 낳았다. 그러나 아직 많은 안건 항목들이 해결되지 않았다는사실 또한 인정할 수밖에 없다.
많은 대사관들 앞에서 말하는 것이 예전보다 조금 더 편안해질 수 있는 시간이었고, 어떻게 나의 주장을 효율적으로 펼치는지도 배우게 되었다. 2018년 케이문은나에게 정말 값진 기회였고, 내년 2019년 케이문에도 또 다시 참가하고 싶다.
